Oh My - Bohol Trip!

Bohol is now one of the most visited places in the Philippines. And I did not let myself be left out of this adventure.

My mom and I did not book a hotel room in Bohol thinking it would be easy for us to find one. We initially decided to look for affordable hotels or pension houses once we arrive in Tagbilaran City.

Upon our arrival in their airport, we met two kuyas. One was offering us to ride in his tricycle. Since we have a luggage, we chose the one who is servicing a van instead.

Pension House Hunting

Our first stop was, according to kuya, the cheapest pension house. Their cheapest room rate is around 700 to 800 pesos but we declined and looked for another place. Frankly, I find the place eerie and I also did not like that their hotel boy was in topless!

On the other hand, I found the second pension pretty cool. Though their room rates seem affordable, I was amazed to see one room we checked having that "hotel" look and feeling. Not to mention they also have bar and restaurant.

Finally, our last stop was at El Portal Inn. This is where we really stayed overnight. I believe the room was pretty enough for us two. We also chose this so we could leave some of our things behind while we are on our tour.

The Countryside Tours

Blame me for not preparing so much. I forgot to fully charge my digicam's battery! I took most of the photos here using either a Nokia Camera Phone or Sony's Video camcorder. Good thing they are my saving grace. Anyways, here are some of the places we went to:

Blood Compact Monument - Although my picture appears blurry I'm still posting it here for proof purposes.

Baclayon Church - One of the oldest churches in Bohol.

Kuya has also shared to us two images on the walls of Baclayon Church. Have you notice any of them?
The image of Father Pio appearing in one of the pillars of Baclayon Church.

Here's an image of the Mother and Child. Amazing isn't it?

Tarsier Viewing - I must add, picture taking with the tarsier! Oh he must be very sleepy since he still managed to stay "looked awake" from the visiting tourists.

P.S. More pictures in my next blog post! (See Bohol Part 2 - Secret Haven Now Unraveled)
